Injections Dictionary: Botox and Dysport
What is Botox and Dysport?
Botox and Dysport is a well studied and widely used neuro toxin. It uses the active ingredient Botulinum Toxin A. This is a neuromodulator that inhibits the signal that your nerves send to your muscle to produce movement. A common misconception is that Botox/Dysport cause paralysis. It in fact does not paralyze, it inhibits and stops the signal your brain sends your muscles to produce movement. Once the toxin wares off, your signals continue to motion your muscles to move and will return to its normal movement. Continuous use of this product WILL NOT result in any injury to your nerves or muscles. It WILL NOT make your lines, wrinkles or features appear any worse (or more wrinkly) after treatment. Your muscles will return to their normal function and for years following, your wrinkles will actually appear better then if you had never been treated.
