Many of us have over active Masseter muscles. This is the muscle responsible to chewing, talking and grinding teeth. This treatment has many cosmetic and therapeutic benefits. This can lead to TMJ (Temporal Mandibular Joint Syndrome) clicking and popping of the jaw, tension headaches and cracked teeth. By injecting the Masseter muscles with Botox or Dysport, it atrophys (shrinks) the muscles which inhibits clenching and grinding. When the muscle shrinks it gives the face a slimmer appearance from both the front and side profile. Depending on the density of the muscle, a dose of approximately 15-30 units of Botox or Dysport bilaterally (on both sides.) This results in a beautiful slimming transformation, more definition to the jaw and contours the cheek to appear more prominent and chiseled.
